Teche Bar in Parks, LA Gets Required Backflow Preventer

Teche Bar in Parks, LA has been host to many entertainers over the years, the likes of Cajun favorites Aaron Hebert & Crossfire, Kip Sonnier, Horace Trahan and many more over the years, not to mention the many free suppers, bingo games and DJ's playing for numerous high school class reunions.

Recently, due to an audit of the town's public water system, businesses in Parks, including Teche Bar, are having to comply with federal and state regulations to prevent potential hazardous contamination of the public water system in Parks.

For many businesses, this means the installation of new backflow devices on their main water supply lines in front of the water meter. Backflow Preventers, as they are called, are designed to allow water to flow in one direction - from the meter toward the business - and not accidently get syphoned or pushed by pressure back into the public water supply pipes. And, the devices require annual backflow preventer testing by licensed testers such as Todd Billiot to make sure they are operating correctly.

After getting a permit from St. Martin Parish, Todd installed a new Reduced Pressure Zone (RPZ) Backflow Preventer in front of the water meter for Teche Bar. Now, there's now way carbonization from beer taps, fertilizer, crawfish boil water, soapy water, mop water, grease or anything else can accidently get syphoned through a water hose and back into the public water system and make people sick. The new backflow preventer will prevent the accidental backflow of water from the bar.
