Nice, New Tub/Shower Valve Upgrade

Our property management customer for Bayberry Point subdivision in Lafayette recently asked us to look at a badly dripping tub/shower valve.

We replaced the cartridge inside the valve body, but it still dripped. After multiple attempts of resetting the cartridge and flushing the valve out, it still dripped. The old valve, which is approximately 30-40 years old, had a lot of sediment buildup and the bronze valve body appeared scoured. So, I decided to replace the entire valve inside the wall, with permission from the property manager.

We needed access to the old valve inside the wall. So we cut open the wall behind the bathtub inside a closet to take the old valve out.

We then installed a new Delta tub/shower valve with new copper pipe. The valve came with a new chrome handle, tub spout and shower head. Delta has a lifetime warranty.

These types of plumbing services take 2-3 hours to complete. It went faster for us because we had help from the tenant’s 5-year old son, who held the flashlight for us. Thank You Buddy!
